Pharmaxis Website Case Study

Pharmaxis

Pharmaxis is a specialist pharmaceutical company that researches, develops and markets new therapies for under-treated respiratory diseases. Aridol is one of their key products.

Pharmaxis had redesigned their entire company website and their Aridol website within the previous 24 months, while using a different Content Management System (CMS) than Siteflex. They wanted a new CMS that allowed them to maintain their current site design, but provide greater flexibility and functionality.

Most content management systems have certain ways of doing things, and often if you try to convert to a different system, the website will display differently. Therefore, it was important to make sure all of the relevant changes were made, without compromising the layout, design or displays throughout the site.

The implementation team spent around three weeks converting the primary Pharmaxis website, which included a significant amount of data entry. There were certain specific challenges, as the existing site incorporated a latest news feature on the home page that displays random news items from the company's five different news feeds.

“In the past, we could have just grabbed the latest news based on date, but we had to change the way the system works so that we could target each category and display it on the home page," explains Rabin, Siteflex team member. “Also, they had used images to communicate, such as country flags to indicate the country and language displays, so we had to match up the images to the navigation structure."

Moving to Siteflex has enabled the client to manage overseas relationships more efficiently and make the most out of their website. They find their new CMS much easier to use - so much so that Siteflex also hosts another site for Pharmaxis, for internal use only, as an offshoot of the parent site.

"Your team has done an excellent job on this project and your investment in our ongoing business relationship is appreciated."
