Hmm I wonder... News Preview functionality
Tweet This6 April, 2010
Siteflex News now allows you to preview your news without disrupting RSS feeds. Rather than making your news item temporarily live to test how it displays and affecting the RSS feed, there is a new Preview button to make life easier. Previewing is a good idea as it allows you to see if there are any layout issues, such as messy text wrapping or image alignment errors on offline, and draft News items.

Under the hood: Mix 'N Match Recent Pages RSS Feed
Tweet This30 March, 2010
RSS feeds are great for automatically keeping people up to the minute with the latest website happenings and for linking up with third party tools. With that in mind, we have just introduced a way to flexibly craft up your own custom RSS feed for Recent Page updates; a URL you can then pass around and use with various third party tools.
Advanced Users: How to craft your own customised Recent Pages RSS
- Identify which pages you'd like to have as a part of your RSS feed. Note their Parent Page IDs (this can be found in Siteflex Admin, the address bar being the quickest method).
Example: to display all latest updates to the Siteflex Case Studies, I'd get the ID of the case studies page from Edit Web Pages. In this case the ID is 5387.
- Append this Page ID to the standard Recent Pages RSS URL. This is done by adding "&m=" and the Page ID to the RSS URL.
Example: http://www.siteflex.com.au/libs/rss.asp?type=pages becomes http://www.siteflex.com.au/libs/rss.asp?type=pages&m=5387
- For multiple Page branches, identify further Page IDs and add them, comma seperated, onto the crafted RSS URL.
Example: To turn my "Case Studies Updates" RSS feed into a "Showcase Updates" I can add the Showcase Page's ID (3659) to the URL: http://www.siteflex.com.au/libs/rss.asp?type=pages&m=5387,3659
Tip: Unticking the Index Page option under the Search Engines area in Page Properties will ensure the Page is not listed in any RSS feeds.
We're hoping this feature will lend a hand to advanced users in getting the most out of their Siteflex website, allowing a flexible set of content to be pushed to an RSS feed.

Creating a directory of Siteflex Contacts
Tweet This29 March, 2010

Our new Contacts Directory feature lets you create lists of your Siteflex Contacts on your Siteflex website with ease.
Based on a range of Contact Categories, your Contacts Directory can be anything from a store listing, directory of your company's staff members, to a complete list of respected industry professionals.
Your Contacts Directory can be optionally set up to be searchable via keyword, or even further filterable by additional Contact Categories - allowing website users to drill down and find exactly who they're after.
We've started implementing this new feature on a few sites where there is a desire for an easier, dynamic way of updating lists of Contacts. If you think this feature would suit you, don't hesitate to let us know!
