  • A call to action! Siteflex Page Flip

    27 June, 2008

Sure content is king, but how does the structure of your website itself go about getting users to the content? It's easy to sit back and let Google do the work for you, relying on your site's integrated Google custom search capabilities. Perhaps too easy?

More and more the flow of content is becoming a highly important aspect of maintaining a website. It's not enough to have the content online and indexable by Google, the user must be guided to it in a logical, intuitive way within the framework of your website's navigation.

Siteflex's existing suite of automatic navigation features such as Navigation Breadcrumbs and functional Sub-Navigation assist with this goal nicely, but still there is always more we can do to help!

Today Siteflex is introducing Page Flip functionality to assist further with the flow of your content by adding automatic links to related pages within your Navigation. In essence, giving these pages a call to action to continue browsing your website's other pages.

By directing the website user to the next, previous, or child page in the Navigational structure the user is encouraged to hang around and continue browsing. This is opposed to a website user reaching the end of the page's content and, as they say in the classics, The End.

We've already implemented the Page Flip on the Siteflex.com.au site to enhance the content flow of certain sections - such as on the Mailflex information pages and the Siteflex information pages. Check them out for a little bit of a demonstration of the end result.

  • Enhanced: Manage your Product Images and Assets

    27 June, 2008

Not all products systems are so massive that they require "mass" everything, and even the ones that do - sometimes you want to get down into the nitty gritty.

Another positive step towards the goal of being able to easily customise your Products system is the new Product Assets area on the Siteflex Products admin screen.

The Product Assets area allows Siteflex users to easily view, jump to and, most importantly, reorder your various asset types (ie. Images, PDFs). This reorder ability has the related function of allowing a Siteflex administrator to set the Featured Product image for individual products. That is, the main image that represents a product in list views, searches, and the product detail screen itself.

The Product Assets area is now live for all Siteflex Products system administrators - get into the nitty gritty!

  • Firefox 3 Released - Keep two hands on those Header Titles

    18 June, 2008

Download DayWith the release of Firefox 3 we thought it was a perfect time to give all Siteflex users the ability to edit their Siteflex Page Header Titles by default.

Why is this a perfect time I hear you ask? Outside of the well documented usefulness with Google and search engine optimisation, now with Firefox 3 the Header Title is even more useful. A Firefox 3 user is now able to type in words into the address bar, with results from the Firefox's history and bookmarks appearing as selectable pages to jump back to.

Make your Siteflex Pages even easier to find with descriptive, relevent Header Titles today.

Beyond Header Titles, we are aiming to make Siteflex a Firefox-3-friendly place in the grand Siteflex tradition of supporting only the most cutting-edge web browsers. Infact we have already made improvements and adjustments to get things ready for today's big release.

    Enjoy a better web!
