    16 September, 2011

Have you ever clicked away from an item you are editing without pressing the all important Save button, only to find you have lost a half hour of work?

Our new Save reminder feature is here to the rescue! After detecting if any changes have been made, a friendly warning box will now appear on your editor screen to ensure you do not put yourself in danger of losing work without pressing Save and navigating away.

Have you got feedback on any aspects of Siteflex usability? We'd love to hear from you. Contact the Siteflex team and let us hear your thoughts.

  • Design Tools Expands to Siteflex Content

    31 August, 2011

A growing number of Siteflex Users have access to Design Tools, a suite of tools that allow direct editing of Siteflex Template, Stylesheet and Script files from within Siteflex.

Today we're opening up our Design Tools' Code Editor to also be usable from within Siteflex Pages (and anywhere else where specialised or advanced content coding may be required).

The best part? Siteflex Users with access to Design Tools can automatically dive in - the Content Editor will be replaced by our Code Editor when Siteflex detects the presence of specialised or advanced coding. Remove said coding and the Content Editor will be restored.

This is a solid step forward for Siteflex flexibility; protecting Siteflex Users from inserting potentially site-breaking or otherwise risky content, while allowing advanced Users to insert customised code via a more suitable interface.

  • Siteflex for Designers: Manage your template files via Siteflex admin

    Tweet This

    3 August, 2011

Siteflex users with a designer or a programmer account now have the ability to update their website template files via Siteflex admin. This allows easy editing of your site script files, stylesheet document or template files without the need of any FTP programs or text editors.

The Manage Templates link should be available in Siteflex Control Panel. The editor on the Manage Template screen allows a full screen editing mode and has syntax highlighting enabled for better display of the template codes.

You can also upload these site specific files by using the Upload Files link. As always, you can select multiple files of the same type to be uploaded.

    Cart with a product kit

A good way to increase sales through your eCommerce site is by offering discounted pricing when customers purchase several different products at the same time. This idea has got us to introduce the concept of Product Ktting to the Siteflex system.

    What is a Product Kit?

A Product Kit is a special type of product that allows normal products to be a part of it. The advantage of using a kit rather than a normal product is that the seller can set a predefined set of products that customers can buy and also set a discounted price so it can attract more sales.

For each Product Kit, you can specify a list of product and appropriate quantity comprising a kit. The inventory of a Product Kit relies on the inventory of each constituent product.

How to add a Product Kit?

'Add Product Kit' link should be available in Edit Product Screen, if you have purchased this feature with your Siteflex licence.

To help you get started, the add/edit product screen is fairly descriptive with inline help items available for almost all of the individual fields.

Adding products to a product kit

The 'Kit Detail' page allows normal products to be added to the list of products comprising a Kit. Additionally, you can specify the quantity for each product that this kit contains. Once you are happy with the kit products, press 'Update Kit Items' to commit the changes.
