With that in mind, we have just introduced a way to flexibly craft up your own custom RSS feed for Recent Page updates; a URL you can then pass around and use with various third party tools.

Advanced Users: How to craft your own customised Recent Pages RSS

    • Identify which pages you'd like to have as a part of your RSS feed. Note their Parent Page IDs (this can be found in Siteflex Admin, the address bar being the quickest method).

Example: to display all latest updates to the Siteflex Case Studies, I'd get the ID of the case studies page from Edit Web Pages. In this case the ID is 5387.

    • Append this Page ID to the standard Recent Pages RSS URL. This is done by adding "&m=" and the Page ID to the RSS URL.

      Example: http://www.siteflex.com.au/libs/rss.asp?type=pages becomes http://www.siteflex.com.au/libs/rss.asp?type=pages&m=5387

    • For multiple Page branches, identify further Page IDs and add them, comma separated, onto the crafted RSS URL.

Example: To turn my "Case Studies Updates" RSS feed into a "Showcase Updates" I can add the Showcase Page's ID (3659) to the URL: http://www.siteflex.com.au/libs/rss.asp?type=pages&m=5387,3659

Tip: Unticking the Index Page option under the Search Engines area in Page Properties will ensure the Page is not listed in any RSS feeds.

We're hoping this feature will lend a hand to advanced users in getting the most out of their Siteflex website, allowing a flexible set of content to be pushed to an RSS feed.
