A huge advancement in making life both better and easier has been made a reality today with the unveiling of the new static auto thumbnailing system for Siteflex websites.

How does it work?

Static Auto Thumbnailing takes a single original image file and, based on a valid thumbnail URL, will automatically create the required thumbnail and store the generated image file for future use.

What does this all mean for Siteflex administrators?

Streamlined process: no more figuring out which image thumbnails you might need - thumbnails are generated as they are needed! Less boxes to tick, less choices to make, less chance of human error: always a good thing!

Greater design agility: that old design getting a little stale? The size of all your existing thumbnails is no longer a barrier for even modest website design changes.

What does this mean for website users?

Less missing images and potentially bigger images, more images, better websites!

And finally for the Siteflex crew it means greater design flexibility with the new range of thumbnail sizes, and more time to spend on other features!
 

Normally we'd ask Siteflex administrators to look for this great new feature, but in this case you'll find nothing outside of the soon-to-be-missing thumbnailing options in the Media Manager. So just put your feet up and enjoy!

We will also be unveiling some additional thumbnail selection options in the new Siteflex Editor (still in beta for a select group of users) to take advantage of this new method early in the new year!
