    28 May, 2009

Those keeping an eye on our Siteflex Twitter will likely already know about many of the recent updates to Siteflex, in brief. Below is a slightly expanded explanation on what has recently been going on in some of the areas of Siteflex...

    Siteflex Admin User Interface improvements

Tabs - Continuing to roll out throughout Siteflex is the module tabs interface, which can be found in the top right hand corner of the main display area in many Siteflex modules. Allowing users to quickly and consistently switch between screens that are relevant to the main displayed item.

Dynamically Loaded Navigation - Admin module navigation has been receiving a review in the various modules of Siteflex, but the biggest improvement in this department is the new dynamically loaded navigation currently featured in the Pages module.

Dynamically loaded navigation only loads the parts of the tree structure that you need, as you need it - a dramatic improvement for sites with a large number of pages.

Inline Search - A great side benefit of the dynamically loaded navigation is that the Inline search for Pages is now open to all Siteflex users - not just power ones.

Inline search allows users to quickly find and select the item being looked for, just by simply typing in relevant keywords - all completely inline with the Siteflex Admin interface.

Navigation Item Status - Module navigation has also been receiving a few tweaks to usability, with the expansion of status indicators into more areas of the system. Navigation Item Status indicators - such as a simple change of colour - aim to make it easier to see at a glance what is going on in Siteflex.

    For example:

    • User Admin status colours are used to indicate whether a Siteflex User has been recently active or not, or disabled.
    • Page Admin status indicators may show whether a Page is currently offline, due to expire shortly, due to come online shortly, is in draft mode or has no content.
    • Form Admin status indicators may show whether a form is active, a multi-page form or currently has no results associated.

Dynamically Loaded Selectors - Item selectors, such as the Parent Page Selector on Pages, are now only loaded when you need them - much in the same way as the dynamically loaded navigation (discussed above) works. This significantly increases the snappiness that relevant admin screens are loaded, further streaming your day-to-day Siteflex usage.

...and even more! Inline help updates, admin screen revamps, new Siteflex Edit Area enhancements, even one or two iPhone related updates sneaking out. Remember to keep an eye on our Siteflex Twitter for the small (and big!) stuff that make things better every day.
