Geo-targeting your marketing

Thanks to this new Siteflex feature that we’ve implemented recently, you can start to conduct some basic "geo-targeting" for Email and SMS. You can select who recieves your marketing messages based on where they live or work. For example- you could send an email newsletter to all customers who live in Brisbane. Or perhaps send an SMS to customers in North Sydney, Parramatta or even New York and let them know about an event.

Send specific emails/SMS to customers based on their location

Through the creation of smart categories based on contacts’ postcode, town, state or country (or any combination of all four)- you now have greater control over who receives (or doesn’t receive) your marketing messages. There are a number of possibilities on how this could be used- but ultimately it means you can communicate with your target audience more effectively- which is always a good thing, right?

Delete unwanted files & assets

Delete stuffYou can now delete media in Siteflex. We’re very excited about the new Delete Media function in Siteflex. Not only does this feature help to de-clutter your assets folders, but it also checks and alerts you if those files are currently being used somewhere in the content. Because removing an asset that’s in use can cause display issues on your website, the file usage check system is an invaluable tool and takes the guesswork out of deleting media.

To use this feature, just go to Manage Media from the Dashboard, select some files (shift + click to select multiple) and click Delete. Siteflex will check whether or not your files are in use and give you the option to Delete Inactive assets (assets that aren’t in use in your website) Delete assetsor Delete All (regardless of whether or not they appear on the website). Read more about how to use this feature.

This is a feature that a number of users have requested recently- so we are pleased to add it. If you have any suggestions for how Siteflex could be further improved - don’t keep it to yourself. We’d love to know about it!

AIS conference

Last month some of the Siteflex team attended the AIS 'schools' Conference in the Hunter Valley. The event explored innovative solutions and technologies in regards to school ICT infrastructure. The Expo featured three days of conferences for representatives from various independent schools with inspirational talks on technology and the future of digital learning, with a particular interest this year on students utilising technology like iPads in the classroom- something that many independent schools are now adopting. Siteflex featured at the expo for its flexible web system capabilities in the education realm.

We also gave away 12 bottles of local Hunter wine to two lucky winners-  congratulations to Jassie and Eu-Gene! Take a look at the lucky winners and a bunch of other pics in this gallery we created from the conference.
